About Gola Footwear:
Originally a footwear manufacturer that produces mainly soccer shoes and other performance athletic footwear, Gola has reinvented itself as a popular fashion brand that specializes in athletic-inspired retro trainers and trendy athlesuire shoes.

A UK-based shoe company that had just celebrated their 100th year in business in 2005, Gola was perhaps best remembered for their various achievements in the English football scene back in the 1960's and '70s. Back in their heydays, Gola football boots were the undisputed number one choice among professional footballers and any number of aspiring footballers in the country. The oldest sports shoe maker in England, Gola was largely responsible for the development of modern football boots, which replaced the heavy boots of old for good. In addition to football shoes, the Gola brand was actively expanding to other areas such as cricket, tennis, athletics and training. The late '60s also heralded the original Gola Harrier, a popular training shoe that was arguably the most recognizable Gola shoe in their entire history. The re-launched Harrier trainer has also made a successful come back in the last decade. By selling in excess of a million pairs in less than 10 years, Gola Harrier continues to be the flagship shoe for Gola.

The good times did not last long for Gola, however, as the '80s and '90s soon saw the downturn of fortunes for the company. The rise to eminence of major competitors like Adidas and Nike meant a steady decline for the much vaunted British brand, and after a few changes in ownership, Gola was finally acquired by its present owner, the Jacobson Group. With a new owner behind the helm, the brand underwent a transformation and shifted their focus onto a line of retro-styled fashion sneakers. With perfect timing, the revival of Gola's fortunes coincided with the revival of retro sneaker styles, and the Gola brand has since enjoyed renewed success and reached new heights in popularity.

Often featuring eye-catching urban and street inspired designs, but always nostalgically retro, Gola shoes are the perfect athleisure footwear that will appeal to fashion-conscious men and women who are seeking stylish, comfortable shoes to cool off after work.
